HARMON, EUNICE E., 69, of Homosassa, died Sunday (Sept. 8, 2002) at Cypress Cove Care Center, Crystal River. Born in Woodlawn, Va., she came here five years ago from Phoenix. She was a retired department store cashier, was a member of the Moose Lodge 2013 and a member of Faith Baptist Church of Homosassa. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Brandt, Phoenix; a son, Michael Ray, San Francisco; two sisters, Geneva Warden, Homosassa, and Nancy Hym, Spring Hill; and a brother, Henry R. MAGER, RONALD RAYMOND, 65, of Floral City, died Saturday (Sept. 7, 2002) at home under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. He was born in Chicago Heights, Ill. He was a retired carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Marilynn J.; a son, Michael R., Ormand By The Sea; a daughter, Pamela A. TOMPA, IMRE, 89, of Beverly Hills, died Thursday (Sept. 5, 2002) in Pine Bush, New York. Born in Vasarosfalu, Hungary, he moved to Pine Bush two months ago after residing in Beverly Hills for the last 19 years. He was a retired pastry chef with the Concord Hotel, Kiamesha Lake, N.Y. with 20 years of service. He was a horse soldier in the Hungarian army. He was Lutheran. CASIGLIA, MARIE JANE, 81, of Spring Hill, died Monday (Sept. 9, 2002) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Brooksville. Born in Stony Brook, N.Y., she came here 21 years ago from Smithtown, N.Y. She worked for Macy's department store. She was Christian and a member of Assembly of God Church of Spring Hill. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Sons of Italy. Survivors include her son, Frank S., Port Jefferson, N.Y.; two daughters, Maryanne Rosso, Middle Island, N.Y., and Susan Casiglia, Spring Hill; and six grandchildren. CRAIG, RUTH E., 72, of Spring Hill, died Sunday (Sept. 8, 2002) at home. Born in Linville, Va., she came here in 1975 from Camp Hill, Pa. She was a member of the American Legion Post Spring Hill. FREAS, LeROY ELWOOD, 82, of Spring Hill, died Saturday (Sept. 7, 2002) at Oak Hill Hospital, Spring Hill. Born in Conshohocken, Pa., he came here in 1986 from Plymouth Meeting, Pa. He was a retired traffic control manager and was a member of the Spring Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, Brian, Carlisle, Pa.; two sisters; and one grandchild. MARTINS, GABRIEL F., 57, of Spring Hill, died Friday (Sept. 6, 2002) in Spring Hill. Born in St. Michael, Portugal, he came here in 1989 from Framingham, Mass. He was a landscaper for Weeki Wachee Springs for many years and most recently worked for Wal-Mart in Spring Hill. He was a Portugese Air Force veteran and served in the military police unit. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; four sons, Robert and Stephen Martins, both of San Diego, Maj. John J. Murphy, Parris Island, S.C., and Trooper Shawn P. Murphy, Connecticut; three daughters, Darlene Von Goeler, Kathleen White and Maureen P. PATEMAN, MEREDITH NEEL, 91, of Ridge Manor, died Friday (Sept. 6, 2002) in Tampa. She was born in Orlando and had been a resident of Ridge Manor for more than 30 years. She was a retired elementary school teacher with 25 years of service in Florida and New Jersey. She was a member of the Ridge Manor Community United Methodist Church. WILSON, HOWARD "WILLIE," 76, of Spring Hill, died Saturday (Sept. 7, 2002) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. He was born in Bluefield, W.Va. He was an airplane mechanic for Airworks, Millville, N.J. and was a Navy veteran. He was Christian. BUTZ, CATHERINE FASSNACHT "KAYTE," 77, Seffner, died Saturday (Aug. 31, 2002). Born in Lafayette, Ind., she came to the Tampa area 10 years ago. She retired from National Homes Corp. after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, worked at the polls for Hillsborough County elections and volunteered weekly at San Jose Mission, Thorn Homeless Mission, Brandon Hospital and the Veterans Hospital. She was also active with the American Legion Auxiliary and Senior Center. She also sewed lap quilts, comfort animals and therapy blankets as part of her charity work. FAGG, CHARLES F., 65, of Plant City, formerly of Brandon, died Friday (Sept. 6, 2002) in Plant City. He was born in Tennessee. He was a truck driver. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Seffner and a retired Teamsters steward of the Local Union No. 79 I.B.E.W. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. FALES, EVELYN F., 84, Valrico, died Saturday (Sept. 7, 2002) at home. She was born in China Spring, Texas. She was a certified nursing assistant. She was a member of Seffner Church of Christ, a former member of the Keysville Women's Club and taught ceramic classes. Survivors include two sons, James P. Fales Jr., Plant City, and Tommy E. Fales, Land O'Lakes; three daughters, Brenda F. FORD, MAE ETTA, 95, of Tampa, died Friday (Sept. 6, 2002) at home. She came to Tampa several years ago from Dade City. She was a retired restaurant owner. She was a member of St. John Ministries. LINSKY, MARSHALL, 76, of Clearwater, formerly of Tampa, died Sunday (Sept. 8, 2002) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He was born in Chicago and moved to Clearwater in 1985 from Tampa, where he co-founded and owned and operated Tampa Wholesale Plumbing Supply for 36 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and served on the USS Saratoga. He was a 52-year member of Congregation Rodeph Shalom, where he served as vice president and president of the Men's Club. He was chairman of Israeli Bonds, campaign chairman for the Tampa Jewish Federation and an executive board member of the Golda Meir Kent Jewish Center. He was founder and president of the foundation and board member of Menorah Manor, St. Petersburg. He was a Mason and member of the Egypt Shrine Temple and Scottish Rite, all in Tampa. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Loretta; four sons, David, Donald, Mark and Mitchell, a brother, Eugene, and a sister, Francine LeVine, all of Tampa; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. NORTON, RICHARD J., 71, of Tampa, died Friday (Sept. 6, 2002) at home. Born in Dorchester, Mass., he came to Tampa in 1972 from Virginia. He was a retired Navy captain, serving for 27 years. He was a fighter pilot with more than 250 carrier landings. He was a member of Mensa. Survivors include his wife, Linda; three sons, Jason and Michael, both of Tampa, and Richard Jr., Portsmouth, R.I.; two daughters, Catherine Norton Breman, Tampa, and Elizabeth Norton, Los Angeles; two brothers, James, Hanover, Mass., and Leonard, Norwood, Mass.; a sister, Patricia Norton, San Francisco; and five grandchildren. PLESHKO, HERBERT, 77, of New Port Richey, died Sunday (Sept. 8, 2002) at Shands at the University of Florida, Gainesville. Born in Yonkers, N.Y., he came here 15 years ago from Darmstadt, Germany. He was an accountant/auditor for the Department of Defense and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Jewish Community Center, Port Richey, New York University Alumni Association, Numismatic Tampa Chapter and Navy Seabee Veteran Island X6 of Spring Hill. He was an engineer for New York Telephone and was member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of New Port Richey. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the U.S. Power Squadron of Tarpon Springs. SEITTER, ARTHUR H., 72, of Port Richey, died Monday (Sept. 9, 2002) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, New Port Richey. Born in Bronx, N.Y., he came here in 1983 from New York City. He was an insurance manager for ADT Security and graduated from Pace University, New York City, with a finance degree. He was a highly decorated Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and served as a sergeant with the 1st Marine Division. He was a member of Florida Voices for Animals, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Animal Legal Defense Fund, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of West Pasco and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. He was also a member of the United Democratic Club of Pasco County. - PARRIS, ANNETTE J., 93, of St. Petersburg, formerly of Tampa, died Saturday (Aug. 31, 2002) at Edward White Hospital. Born in Clark, Colo., she moved to the Tampa area several years ago. She was an intelligence stenographer for the United States government and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret E. - PHILLIPS, JOHN EDWARD, 36, of Ellijay, Ga., formerly of St. Petersburg, died Monday (Aug. 26, 2002) at home of a massive heart attack. He was a St. Petersburg native and formerly worked in concessions for the minor league St. Petersburg Cardinals and St. Petersburg Devil Rays. He was a retail clerk. Survivors include his mother, Barbara Jane Phillips, St. Petersburg; two brothers, Donald, St. Petersburg, and Edward, Ellijay; two sisters, Barbara Rapa, St. Petersburg, and Debbie Smith, Old Town; five nieces; and five nephews. - RAYMONDO, JOSEPHINE F., 89, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (Sept. 7, 2002) at St. Petersburg General Hospital. She was born in Ripley, N.Y., and came here in 1972 from Sylmar, Calif. She was an aircraft component assembler for ITT. She attended Lealman's Adult Day Care Center, where she also was a volunteer. Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Nailor, and a sister, Genevieve Johnson, both of St. Petersburg; three brothers, Fred Muscarella, Angleton, Texas, Joey Muscarella, Sacramento, Calif., and Cere Muscarella, Walnut Creek, Calif.; two granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren. - THOMPSON, EVA M., 93, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (Sept. 8, 2002) at Edward White Hospital. Born in Jewell, Kan., she came here in 1944 from Wichita, Kan., where she worked as a riveter at Boeing Aircraft during World War II. She retired in 1974 after many years as a kindergarten teacher at Garden of Peace Lutheran Day School. She was an avid golfer and a member of the women's group at Sunset Golf Course. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include two daughters, Audrey Stull, St. Petersburg, and Sonja Risser, Alexandria, Va.; and three grandchildren. - WAGNER, JEAN M., 81, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (Sept. 8, 2002) at St. Anthony's Hospital. A Cleveland native, she came here in 1991 from Farmington, Mich. She was a homemaker and was a member of the DAR. She was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club and the Plum Hollow Golf and Country Club in Southfield, Mich., and was a former member of the Isla del Sol Yacht and Country Club. Survivors include her husband, Sherwood; two sons, Robert H. Hensleigh, Huntington Woods, Mich., and Mark S. Wagner, Petoskey, Mich.; a daughter, Linda J. - WILLIAMS, SCARLETT, 39, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (Aug. 20, 2002) at Talladega National Forest in Alabama. Born in Camp Lejeune, N.C., she came here in 1976 from Sodus, N.Y. She attended Boca Ciega High School and earned her GED from Mirror Lake. She painted houses in Jordan Park with the CETA program and worked at McDonald's in South Pasadena. She attended St. Petersburg College and worked at Paradyne. She also worked at H&D Cafeteria in the Northeast Shopping Center and Ponderosa on Fourth Street. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and crafts. Survivors include two sons, Russel and Marshal; a daughter, Amber, Maryland; a brother, Jim Williams, Pinellas Park; her mother, Kathy, Seminole; and her husband.
- YACKEL, RICHARD PAUL, 48, of Hudson, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Friday (Sept. 6, 2002) at Green Acres Assisted Life Facility, Hudson, where he was a registered nurse. Born in Rochester, N.Y., he moved to Hudson 23 years ago from St. Petersburg. He was Protestant. Survivors include two sons, Richard W., St. Petersburg, and Jonathan, New Port Richey; a daughter, Michele, Gainesville; and his parents, D. Carl and Frances P., Lake Oswego, Ore. Thomas B.
