Writer to speak to professional women's group

SPRING HILL - Tickets are available for the 75th annual National Business Women's Week celebration Oct. 20 at The Wellington at Seven Hills, off Mariner Boulevard.

The event is provided by the Hernando County Business and Professional Women. Networking will begin at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m.

The speaker will be Fawn Germer, a four-time Pulitzer Prize-nominated investigative reporter and author of Hard Won Wisdom. Germer has worked as a Florida correspondent for the Washington Post and U.S. News and World Report. She has won numerous state and national awards, has worked as a reporter and editor for several large newspapers, has written articles for various magazines and has taught as an adjunct journalism professor at several Florida and Colorado universities.

The BPW will recognize and honor area businesswomen as Woman of the Year, Women of Achievement and Employer of the Year, and present a Floyd Buschke Award to a nonmember who supports the BPW's causes.

The public is invited to send nominations for the Women of Achievement and the Floyd Buschke Award. Nominations should be mailed to Hernando County BPW, P.O. Box 5685, Spring Hill, FL 34611.
