Beginning Monday, parents will have additional opportunities to register their children for the 2004-05 school year or to fill out choice applications.
District officials will assist parents at several satellite locations from 9 a.m. until noon for four days leading up to the Nov. 1 application deadline and from 6 to 8 on three evenings. The two Family Education and Information Centers, at 3420 Eighth Ave. S in St. Petersburg and 1101 Marshall St. in Clearwater, will be open next week from Monday through Saturday.
"At this point in the game, we're looking to be very customer-focused with regard to relieving the wait time at the two centers," choice spokeswoman Andrea Zahn said. "Parents need to key in to the fact that this will be the most effective and best use of their time."
While many parents have continued to gather information at discovery nights and open houses, the time to fill out their paperwork has arrived, Zahn said. She encouraged parents of students who are new to the district, including kindergarteners, and those with incoming sixth- and ninth-graders who are not eligible for extended grandfathering to take advantage of the following opportunities.
