New principal takes over at Robinson High School

INTERBAY - Robinson High School welcomes a new principal, Laura Zavatkay, who started the job Wednesday.

Zavatkay was previously principal at Roland Park K-8 school in Carver City/Lincoln Gardens. The School Board appointed her head of Robinson on Tuesday night.

The position had been vacant following the death of Kevin McCarthy. Eight assistant principals at area high schools also applied for the job.

They included: Tommy Morrill at Robinson High; K.R. Lombardia at Hillsborough High; Danny Pickern at Armwood High; Bill Orr at Armwood High; Jacqueline Allen at Robinson High; Doug Sanders at Blake High; George Fekete at Tampa Tech; and Leslie Granich at Brandon High.
