PHILADELPHIA - Wade Dubielewicz came off the bench to stop all 14 shots in his debut to lead the Islanders to a 4-2 victory over the Flyers on Thursday.

With starting goalie Rick DiPietro out because of the flu and backup Garth Snow leaving after one period with a groin injury, Dubielewicz made three sprawling saves in the second and reached back with his stick to stop two of the shots from crossing the goal line. He stopped two more shots during a 1:52 five-on-three early in the third.

"If I had all day to think about it, I probably would have psyched myself out or gotten too fired up," said Dubielewicz, who was recalled from Bridgeport of the AHL on Wednesday. "It was a nice, quick introduction to the National Hockey League."

With the score 2-2, Mark Parrish took an outlet pass from Kenny Jonsson and split defensemen Randy Jones and Kim Johnsson before beating Robert Esche 6:02 into the second.

Flyers center Jeremy Roenick returned to the lineup after missing 19 games because of a broken jaw and concussion. In 17:35 of ice time, he had one shot on goal.

LEAFS 3, BRUINS 0: Ed Belfour recorded his eighth shutout of the season for visiting Toronto, which cut Boston's lead in the Northeast to one point. Boston sustained its 10th shutout of the season. Eight have come at home, breaking the team record of six set in 1951-52.

Joe Nieuwendyk made it 1-0 58 seconds into the second from just outside the crease on a rebound of Nik Antropov's shot. Ron Francis made it 2-0 7:42 later with his first goal since being acquired from Carolina on March 9. His soft shot from 15 feet just got by defenseman Sergei Gonchar and goalie Andrew Raycroft.

WINGS 3, AVALANCHE 1: Manny Legace stopped 35 shots for his third shutout for visiting Detroit. Detroit managed 23 shots, but Darren McCarty scored on a power play in the first and Pavel Datsyuk sealed it with 2:32 left when goalie David Aebischer failed to cover a shot by Henrik Zetterberg.

SENATORS 4, CANADIENS 0: Daniel Alfredsson had two goals and an assist and Patrick Lalime made 29 saves for visiting Ottawa. Montreal, 2-1 losers in Buffalo on Wednesday, failed for the second straight game to earn the one point it needs to clinch a playoff spot.

Montreal's Jose Theodore made 27 saves, including Peter Bondra's penalty shot with 3:46 left in the second. Bondra was hooked from behind by Francis Bouillon during a breakaway.

SHARKS 3, FLAMES 2: Vincent Damphousse banked in a shot off Miikka Kiprusoff's leg with 23.2 seconds for host San Jose, which blew a 2-0 third-period lead. Martin Gelinas and Oleg Saprykin scored 2:15 apart in the third to tie it with 4:01 left.

PREDATORS 4, RANGERS 2: Andreas Johansson scored the go-ahead goal for visiting Nashville, which moved past idle Edmonton for seventh in the West. It was the Predators' second win in 10 games (2-4-3-1). Johansson made it 3-2 4:57 into the third, taking a pass in front from Scott Walker and putting a shot past Mike Dunham. Jaromir Jagr reached 30 goals for the 13th consecutive season for New York.

BLUES 3, DUCKS 2: Jamal Mayers scored the winner, his first goal in 18 games, for host St. Louis, which tied Edmonton for eighth in the West. The Blues tied it with 9:58 left in the second when Keith Tkachuk deflected in Pavol Demitra's shot. Mayers, who last scored Feb. 16, deflected in Chris Pronger's shot 8:26 into the third.

HURRICANES 3, PANTHERS 2: Host Carolina rallied from 2-0. Rod Brind'Amour tied it 1:43 into the third when he scored in a crowd in front of the net. Josef Vasicek then flipped a shot from the faceoff circle past Roberto Luongo, who was screened by Craig Adams, with 11:51 left.

Luongo made 42 saves, giving him a league-record 2,219 for the season. That broke the record of 2,214 set by Toronto's Felix Potvin in 1996-97.

WILD 8, BLACKHAWKS 2: Alexandre Daigle scored twice and visiting Minnesota set a franchise record for goals. The Wild broke the record set in a 7-4 victory over Chicago on Jan. 7.

Lindros has surgery

NEW YORK - Rangers center Eric Lindros had surgery to repair a tear in his right shoulder. Already out after his eighth concussion, Lindros hasn't played since Jan. 28, when a hit by Washington's Jason Doig caused the head injury and a torn labrum in the shoulder.

He is scheduled to immediately start a rehab program that is expected to last three months.

SUSPENSIONS: Dallas goalie Marty Turco will miss four games for hitting the Oilers' Ryan Smyth in the mouth with his stick Wednesday. Smyth clipped Turco's mask with his stick while cutting through the crease earlier on the first-period play. But Turco, who has a league-leading 36 wins, said the hit was not intentional.

Also, Columbus forward Jody Shelley will miss three games for fighting against Minnesota on Wednesday. He was given a minor for roughing, a major for fighting and a misconduct.
