Some wild art: An exhibition of artwork by elephants sponsored by the Asian Elephant Art and Conservation Project will be on display through Aug. 27 at the Clearwater Public Library, 100 N Osceola Ave., Clearwater. The exhibit features paintings available for purchase that are done by elephants. Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization, which works to save elephants. Puppets: Mrs. Goose (played by Norma Bigler) will present a program of short puppet stories and conduct a puppetmaking workshop at 2 p.m. Saturday on the first floor at the Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 101 S Pinellas Ave. Admission is $5, $4 for children 12 and younger. The cost includes the show and the workshop. Reservations are required for the workshop. Call (727) 942-5605.

Happenings

PICNIC IN THE PARK: Every Friday evening, the public is invited to bring picnic dinners to Largo Central Park and enjoy the new "music in the park" sound system. The park will schedule candlelight picnics every Friday from 6-8 p.m. Table cloths, candles and music will be provided. You provide the picnic. For details, contact the Parks Division at (727) 586-7415.

JAZZ: The Clam Bayou Jazz Band, led by Frank Greenstreet, will perform during "Party in the Park" at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at Pop Stansell Park at the west end of Florida Avenue, Palm Harbor. Refreshments will be available. Admission and parking are free. Call (727) 784-8908.

NATURE HIKE: Take a guided hike through the back woods of Brooker Creek Preserve from 9 to 11 a.m. every Saturday. Reservations required. Call (727) 453-6910.

CONCERT: Composer/entertainer Marvin Goldstein will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9000 106th Ave. N, Largo. Admission is free. Call (727) 522-4007.
