Cameron Alexander Byer, 43, was held at the Pinellas County Jail without bail.

Police responded to Monterey Lakes Apartments, 7501 Ulmerton Road, Apt. 1511, about 6 a.m. Saturday after receiving a 911 call that originally sounded like a suicide.

Then the caller told officers that a woman had a head injury and asked them to "get here now," police said. Officers did not say whether Byer was the caller.

After arriving, officers found the body of Anna Maria Fehn, 46, and took Byer into custody.

The investigation continues.
