Representatives of the Federal Bar Association's local chapter will make a presentation today in Washington, D.C., to honor the late Chief Justice William Rehnquist.
The ceremony marks the sixth anniversary of Rehnquist's appearance at the association's annual dinner in Tampa, where he gave a scholarly lecture on the independence of the federal judiciary.
Chapter president Kacy Lake and lawyer Bill Jung, a former Rehnquist clerk, will present a framed proclamation of appreciation from the organization to Janet Rehnquist, the chief justice's daughter, at a conference room at the U.S. Supreme Court. The group also will donate $5,000 in his memory to the Supreme Court Historical Society.
