Husband arrested in murder

By JACOB H. FRIES
Published March 3, 2006

SAFETY HARBOR - Pinellas County sheriff's deputies arrested a 27-year-old Safety Harbor man early Friday morning after finding the man's wife slain inside the couple's home.

Authorities have not said how Krystal Davis, 26, was killed or what led them to arrest husband Eric G. Davis.

Deputies went to the couple's home at 420 Maple Way about 7:30 p.m. Thursday after a friend of Mrs. Davis contacted authorities out of concern for her welfare.

At the home, through drawn blinds, the deputies were able to see blood and a leg protruding from one of the rooms, said sheriff's spokesman Mac McMullen. The deputies then entered the house, found her body with "significant trauma" and called homicide detectives to the scene, McMullen said.

Hours later, at a relative's home in Dunedin, detectives found Eric Davis and took him into custody, McMullen said.
