Holiday events around Tampa:

Dream of sugar plums and candy canes while traveling through the Eckerd Celebration of Lights on the southwest side of the University of South Florida, Fowler Avenue and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. The 11/2-mile route features huge animated lighted scenes that depict the beauty of a winter wonderland. More than 1-million lights show diving dolphins, swimming sea horses and marching soldiers. Visitors can tune their radios to 88.1-FM for holiday music. The celebration of lights is open every night, rain or shine, including holidays, until Jan. 1. Admission is $10 per vehicle or $1 per passenger traveling by bus. A portion of the proceeds is donated to the Children's Miracle Network. Walking is not permitted. Tickets are available on site or at any Ticketmaster location.

If you don't plan to walk in a winter wonderland this year, try walking in a Wild Wonderland at Lowry Park Zoo. Complete with live reindeer and real snow, the seasonal extravaganza is a treat for the whole family. Visit Santa's Castle, a winter workshop secured by toy soldiers and filled with snowmen. Also included are an igloo, elves and snow. There will be plenty of games, lights, carriage rides and zoo animals. Wild Wonderland runs from 6 to 9 p.m. until Dec. 23. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 to 11; children 2 and younger are free. Zoo members receive $1 off. Call (813) 935-8552.

The 19th annual Victorian Christmas Stroll takes place at Henry B. Plant Museum at the University of Tampa. "Toys, Trees and Tradition" is the theme for the stroll. With a tree in every room of the museum, traditions such as holiday cards, classic stories, poems and carols are brought to life. 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Dec. 23. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children younger than 12, and $6 for seniors each Monday. Call (813) 254-1891 or check out the Web site at http://www.plantmuseum.com.
